Like I said, the Montage Method is very, very philosophy heavy. This video was more philosophy than video, but at least it was a video.
I’ve been told that if you only have a couple of paragraphs of a video, you won’t get much of an audience. In fact, the only thing that really makes a video even less than the one it’s about is what it’s like to have a video of your own. That’s why I like that we just chose to keep it simple. This is a video on what it is like to have my own video, and to get a few of the more complex characters down.
It’s a very, very simple philosophy, and it’s one that I’ve been wanting to talk about more often. It’s what a video is.
I love it, and I think its important. For the past year Ive been writing a series of blog posts about video as a form of communication in a way that is a little bit different from what we’ve usually seen. In this post I wanted to tell you that because I feel you should really have video, too.
Video and audio are a natural extension to written and spoken words, so why shouldn’t we be doing more of it? I know that for sure. I love video because it is so accessible. The fact that I can watch it and understand it, and put it into practice is part of what truly makes it so powerful. I also love that video is a form of communication. It allows me to share the things that I do and the things that I am going through with someone else.
The video interview process is the same (except the person in the video is not me) as the written form, so we’re doing the same things. We get a written form to explain what we’re doing, but we also ask the videographer to do a video and audio interview. I think that’s the biggest difference between the written and the video interview process.
The question is, does the video interview in particular make or break your video interview? If your videographer is a good one, then it will put you in a good first impression with the video interviewer. If the videographer has a bad one, then you might not be able to get the video interview done.
But what I really like about the interview is what the interviewer tells us about what’s going on. For me, it means that we are seeing something really interesting, for example, in the context of a game, and we’re seeing a game of survival, or a horror film, or a movie about someone who was killed in a car accident.
