My name is Jose F. Fernandez and I am the founder of the Self-Awareness Institute. I’ve had the pleasure of working with many clients over the years and they’ve all told me how much of an impact that self-awareness has made in them. I wanted to share how this knowledge has impacted me personally.
First of all, I want to thank all of my clients for taking the time to talk to me about how the Self-Awareness Institute has provided them with tools that have helped them overcome certain challenges and fears in their lives. As a business, I have always been focused on making my clients lives easier, so I hope this new awareness has done just that.
I think the word “awareness” is a bit misleading. I am not some crazy scientist who is all about studying the human brain and what happens when you lose your memory. I truly believe it is possible, and I think it is a skill that can truly be developed. With that in mind, I would like to share some of the things that self-awareness has done, and continues to do for me.
Self-awareness is a huge part of my life, in general. When I’m out and about, I’m much more aware of the things around me and what I feel. It’s a self-awareness that has allowed me to be more creative and to be able to accomplish goals and dreams I’ve had for myself. I also have a great deal of self-awareness in my business.
Another skill that can be developed, is self-awareness about what I’m feeling. When I’m feeling uncomfortable and I don’t know what I’m feeling, I feel it inside. I can tell when I am feeling my emotions without any external stimuli of any kind.
This self-awareness is very similar to what you find in a Buddhist meditation. The difference is that in Buddhism, you are aware of your self, but you never know when or where you are. In meditation, you know where you are, but you can’t tell if you are angry, happy, or sad. Self-awareness is almost like your internal clock that tells you when you are angry, happy, or sad.
In a mindfulness-based approach, the goal is to come to the awareness that you are your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. When you are present with them, you are aware of them and you can choose to change them. If you are in the present moment, you don’t have to do anything. If you are in the past, you can choose to do something or not. You are not responsible for a past-based decision.
I was introduced to this in the early chapters, and I was shocked by it. It was a very interesting moment, a way to try to get back to some of the same things I had been doing for a while.
Fernandez is a big deal. If you want to become aware of yourself, you have to be present with your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. The more you can acknowledge them, the more you can choose to change them. With self-awareness you can decide to change your thoughts or feelings, your emotions, or even your entire personality.
You would think being aware of your thoughts and emotions would make them easier to change, but I think that is a bit of a stretch. Even with self-awareness you can still create a situation where you are unaware of what is going on around you. For example, a blind person could still be aware of what is going on around them, but they would not be able to change their situation.
