You will often find yourself in the middle of an athletic conference, watching a game, or even sitting in class, and then you’re thinking, “What is going on with this football team?” We have no idea. Sometimes our conversations with coaches and players are filled with the same questions.

Well, we think its because people are just as confused as you are when it comes to the big games and what to expect. As a result, we find a lot of these conversation questions on our blog that ask you to be as specific as possible. For instance, we recently asked the head coach of the high school a question about how the team’s offensive line is going to be used. The answer was, “We’ll see.

We did the same thing once with the head coach of our high school football team, and the answer, apparently, was “Well you’ll see, but I can’t say what the offensive line will do.

When we interview football coaches, we really focus on those two questions because they are the most common ones. After all, it is the coaches job to be the voice of their teams. Also, as a coach, you have a vested interest in these teams ability to win championships. So, if you are going to give answers to those sorts of questions, you want to be as clear as possible.

Athleticism is a huge part of our culture. So you want to make sure they are going to know they are in fact playing the game that they love. It will be easy and fun to give them a positive answer.

It’s important to remember that it isn’t just questions about the game. As a coach, you have a vested interest in your players’ performance and success whether or not they’re on the field. So you want to be as concise as possible in your answers.

The following questions are intended to guide the athletic director in the right direction.
